Seaweed Rotacutter

The Storm Rotacutter is a unique development for cutting the seaweed/kelp and hindering stones and other unwanted objects from going into the Seaweed processing facilities. The Rotacutter comes in different sizes and with replaceable knives.

It can further be supplied with an additional screw system for transporting the Seaweed/kelp to the next processing station.

The STORM Rotacutter is used both in onshore process facilities for Kelp/Seaweed and offshore on ships (Kelp/Seaweed carriers)

The SR 100 Rotacutter has a capacity of approx. 100tonn per hour. Other sizes can also be delivered.

Hydraulic or Electric drive

The Storm Rotacutter can be supplied as a complete system with hydraulic motors, manual and radio controls, accumulators and hydraulic power pack. It has also been supplied with electric motors and control systems.

Finally, it can also be delivered as a loose unit – to be incorporated into a larger hydraulic or electric Seaweed/Kelp processing facility.

Experience and durability

The Storm Rotacutter has been supplied to both onshore- and offshore (vessels) facilities and to customers in Norway, Iceland and Canada. All units are still in operation and two of the units has been in operation since 2004.

Installation, Service and Maintenance

Storm Cranes AS has a dedicated team of highly skilled operators. Additionally, we also collaborates with a company (Flematec Industriservice) that are specialists in installing and maintaining all types of processing facilities onshore and offshore.
