Storm to deliver cranes to Myklebust and Sølvtrans

Storm Cranes wins contract with Myklebust Yard to deliver cranes and control system for a Live Fish Carrier (LFC) for the ship-owner Sølvtrans. The vessel is designed by Kongsberg Maritime.
We are delighted for the trust and confidence we have received by Myklebust Yard and Sølvtrans. In times where many suppliers have moved production and service to low-cost countries, Storm has chosen to go against this trend and focus on local production and service from their location at Averøy in Norway. The fact that we are now supplying cranes to the world’s largest LFC company, Sølvtrans, is a great achievement and signal that our philosophy has been right, says Even Kippernes, Technical Sales Director at Storm Cranes.
STORM is a producer of cranes, A-frames, MOB Davits and handling systems to Fishing-and Oceanographic research vessels. The company is situated at Averøy in mid-Norway and has made significant investments in its Service-HUB for the fishery-and aquaculture fleet. Recently, we have signed a handful of contracts and employed several new colleagues. The feedback from our customers is that they see it as an advantage that we are a small company making fast decisions, adapting to the operators’ needs and utilizing the same personnel throughout the equipment lifecycle – from production to service. This is what «customer centricity» is all about, ends Kippernes.
